Day 2

Today we left Cincinatti around 8:00 and drove to the eastern side of Cleveland. Stopped at Fairport Harbor to see a Lighthouse, then it was on up the coast of Lake Erie, stopped at Geneva-By-The Lake and ate lunch. Then we went on east to Ashtabula County in upper eastern Ohio. We drove around and saw 13 covered bridges. I'm sending a few pics of some of them. And boy is my car dirty. Lots of graveled roads. We will see 3 more bridges tomorrow and then we are headed to Niagara Falls. Will be there tomorrow night and Sunday night. Will send more pics then.

Day 1

Nothing much to report today. We left Mt. Juliet around 3:00 this afternoon. Stopped just north of Cincinnati, OH. Tomorrow we will see a lighthouse and tour some covered bridges so may have some pics to send then.

Two more days and we are off!!!

Just two more days and we will be hitting the road. It's only going to be a week and 3 days but I sure will miss my boys. (and Jamie, Craig, Kristin, John) Maybe they will e-mail me and let me know how they are doing. As most of you know I always cook for all of them on Thursday nights. I enjoy that very much and look forward to it every week. Even though we live close to each other, there are times we may not see each other from week to week. My mom and dad also come, along with my nephews Jeremy and sometimes Jacob. It has been so hot that we are couped up in the house after we eat. It is even too hot to swim, now that is bad. Anyway I'm going to miss cooking for them 2 weeks straight. I think I have this blog thing figured out. Kristin helped me set it up, just hope I remember everything.

Trip in the Pony

As most of you know. Me and Buddy are taking our 31st Anniversary Trip soon in my Mustang. (That is what we call "The Pony") We are leaving Thursday afternoon. We will drive as far as we can that evening, hopefully we will make it as far as Cincinnati. Our first stop is going to be in Ashtabula, Ohio. There is a lighthouse there and also 16 covered bridges that we will tour on Friday and Saturday. Saturday afternoon we will go on to Niagara Falls. We will be there Saturday and Sunday. Then it is on up into Canada. We will go to Toronto and then to Tobermory, Canada on Monday. That is the day of our anniversary. On Tues. we get on 2 1/2 hr ferry across the Georgian Bay to get on the road that takes us to Sault Ste. Marie. We will stay there on Tuesday night. Wednesday we will spend the day at Mackinaw Island. From there we head down the western coast of Michigan to see more lighthouses. After that we aren't real sure where we will be. I know we are going to visit the Amish area in northern Indiana but don't know the exact day yet. Our last stop will be in Parke Co. Indiana where there are 30 covered bridges that we will tour. Hopefully I will be able to send pics. Not real sure how to work this blog but maybe I can figure it out. Until then, have a great day. Becky
