1 Week Old

Kristin had Shelby on Wednesday, and came home on Thursday. Saturday she took off to Target & Lowes with John & Mitchell. Can't keep a good woman down. She is so amazing. Monday they took Shelby to the dr. for check-up and dr. said everything looked good. She was almost back up to birth weight. She is sleeping good and hardly ever hear a whimper out of her (as of now) By Wednesday Kristin was back to work. Debbie & Janet from VA. stopped back by on their way home from New Mexico. It was good to be able to visit with Debbie. They were able to eat with us on one of our Thursday night family dinners. It was wild and loud and fun as usual.

Shelby Dianne Carey

This is the newest addition to the Sanford family. Shelby Dianne Carey arrived at 8:24 this morning. What a joy & blessing to see your own child have their children. There are no words to explain it. I know most of you that see my blog also look at hers, and if not look under my family & friends and go to her blog. She has a lot more pics. I will post more later. I am so blessed to have two incredible kids & spouses, and now have 4 incredible grandchildren. It just doesn't seem real sometimes.
A very proud & beautiful mommy and to look at her who would know she had not been asleep in 37 hrs. This little girl is going to steal this daddy's heart, just like Kristin did for Buddy. Proud Big Brother Mitchell, holding his little sister Shelby for the first time.

Pigeon Forge & Cades Coves

Our two visitors friends that came during the nights.

I think he was quite full here. But was just resting, they cleaned the deck by morning. Mr. Bear Not much of a view but still relaxing. A few pics from Cades Cove

I think she is ripe!!!!! This was taken last night when we stopped to pic up the dogs. Me & Buddy left last Friday morning, for a weekend at a cabin in Pigeon Forge. We took our time getting there because we didn't think we could get in before 3. We got there around 12:30. Got all our info to get in the cabin and went to Kroger. Since most of you know that I don't like to shop or go out and eat, I'm just content to stay on the hill, we had to stock up on groceries. We were at a cabin on the Dollywood side. It was pretty high up but the pictures we received were very deceiving. Not much of a view since we were closed in by trees. But that was ok too because it was still enjoyable, especially when we had a nice rain all day on Sunday. The cabin had a sauna, hot tub, air hockey, and pool table. It was a very relaxing weekend. We had a couple of night time visitors that came and cleaned the deck off each night. We fed them, tostito chips, rib bones, bird seed. They will miss us I'm sure. Monday when we left we met up with my cousin Mike & his wife Nancy that live in Bluefield, VA. They had been there for the weekend also celebrating their anniversary. We had breakfast with them and just sat and visited for awhile. After leaving there we drove over to Cades Cove to drive the loop. It was very crowded so we didn't stop much. Got home around 7:00 last night. Now it is time to get geared up for the arrival of Shelby Dianne. Not much longer.

Anniversaries

Yesterday was my mom & dad's 59th anniversary. What a lucky girl I am to have such wonderful Christian parents. They have taught me so much in my lifetime. Last night we took them to Wasabi Japanese Steak House. It was their first time there and the boys first time. It is fun to watch them cook in front of you. Nolen & Mitchell were not too crazy about the part when the chef set the grill on fire. They kept thinking it was going to make a loud noise. Trevor just sat and watched in awe. He loved it. The chef was very good and quite amusing. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed a good time together. Today is mine and Buddy's 33rd anniversary. What a lucky girl I am to have a wonderful & loving husband. He has been a great dad to my kids and a very proud PaPaw. We are leaving Friday morning for a long weekend get-away to Pigeon Forge. Looking forward to some quiet mountain time with my hubby.

Uncle Craig & Mitchell The chef was spinning his knives around making a helicopter for the boys. He was very good and entertaining. The boys thought he was very funny. Mitchell was still thinking it was going to make a loud noise so he kept his ears covered. He made them a heart out of the rice. He made them a torch.
Sweet boys Nolen & Mitchell. Trevor was still busy eating. Looking at the fishys
