Oh my, how I hated leaving this place. The sun on the lighthouse from our room was so pretty. But we had to move on.
Our first stop this morning was into the upper Redwoods. We were just in awe of how big they really are. Pictures don't even come close to showing how big they are.
The tree behind us is where a lot of people get married . |
Some of the tree were just very strange looking at the base.
The ferns growing in the forest were huge.
Our next stop was in the Trees of Mystery. This is Paul Bunyun and his Blue Ox "Babe"To see how big they were, just look at the guy under them taking pictures.
Buddy driving through a tree.
This is in Trinidad, CA A small town high up on a cliff.
Today our travels was through more Redwoods and back to the Coast.
There were a lot of fallen trees in this area.
Some of these trees that have fallen are over 300 ft tall. The length of a football field.
Everyone needs a log house
And their own tree house
Carving from a Redwood
The famous Chandelier Drive Thru Tree. Even with our small car it was pretty tight getting through.
Leaving the Redwoods and heading back to the coast was a switchback road in the forest for about 25-30 miles, over the mountain. I'm sure Buddy would have loved to had our Mustang to hug those curves.
The sun was shining bright all day until we hit the coast. There was a fog just off shore, so made for a bad day driving the famous Hwy 1.
This is from our room, and the fog was still pretty far out.
Where we are staying tonight is on an harbor and we can see the fishing boats coming in.
These next pictures are from Buddy's camera for day 7-8. These are the sea lions that we could hear from our hotel room. They were just out basking in the sun.

This was the gondola ride that we took up to Trees of Mystery
