Camping Week 1 (Part II)

On Thursday the rest of the gang came up. We were short a few this year compared to the years before. This is our 9th year to have this annual fall camping trip. It is lots of fun, food, family & friends. Friday night we had hot dogs & chili. Big breakfast on Saturday morning which continued onto 4 lbs of grilled shrimp fix by Buddy. During the pumpkin carving it is a tradition for me to fix chocolate chip cookies. That continued onto supper which was steaks, chicken, green beans, corn, baked potatoes. It is one continuous day of eating. I didn't get as many pics as I would have liked on Saturday. Sunday we had another big breakfast. Then it was time for everyone to pack up and leave. John & Kristin played tag team as Shelby was just too little to bring and the weather was a bit too chilly for her to be outside. John came up and stayed Friday afternoon and left after Mitchell went to bed. Kristin came up Saturday morning and stayed until Sunday. Next year hopefully all of my kids and grandkids will get to be there. I will continue on with my next two weeks of camping at a later time.

Camping Week 1

As most of you know I went to Defeated Creek. I went the Sunday before the rest of the family and friends were to come up for our annual fall camping trip. Craig's boys were sick and couldn't make it up any. Mitchell went up with us on Sunday. It was a little cool on Sunday but warmed up nice after that. Kristin & Shelby came up Tuesday and spent the day. Mitchell kept saying he was going to stay with me 5 days. Kristin bribed him away by letting him know he was going to get to stop by and play with his cousin. I will have several more posts in the next few days. These pics are only of the first 3 days and I stayed 3 weeks.

Monday evening there were lots of deer out. One man I talked to counted 28. Fun times at the playground and beautiful warm weather on Tuesday. Mitchell swinging his baby sister

Thursday Dinner & Shelby 1 month

Seems like it has been forever since we have had a full Thursday family night. I didn't cook last week as Craig's boys were both sick. John had a football game last night. Didn't think Craig was going to make it last night, but he did. We had a simple & easy meal of burgers, fries, green beans (imagine that) and salad. Even was lazy enough to use paper plates. The boys had their usual fun time together. Only a couple of minor mishaps. Papaw was roughing the boys up and Him & Nolen had a collision. Mitchell was running and bumped into Trevor's head and got a fat lip. Trevor slipped on some cardboard and whacked the back of his head. Boys will be boys. Sure hope Shelby survives them. I'm sure she will be right in the middle of it all in a few years. She is a month old today. My they change so fast.
