Zip Lining Royal Gorge-Day 4

Today we really didn't know what we were going to be doing. I saw a brochure on a zip line over the Royal Gorge in Canon City, CO. I thought I might try that since it was on my bucket list. Little did I know that it was the highest zip line in North America. It was 1200 feet high and 2200 feet long. In the brochure below click on where it says "Want to know what it is like to fly across the Royal Gorge" and watch video. That will let you know what it was like

The tallest structure back that you see is where it started.
This is the tram that you ride over the gorge to get on the zip line.
Wow, is all I can say. It was thrilling. Buddy wanted me to go back and ride it again so I could try to video, but they wouldn't let me. He did video it from where he was standing watching but you can't really tell much because of the shadows on the mountain. He posted it on Facebook. He said I was so far away he couldn't pick it up. Oh well, it was well worth it. Second time was even better, because I knew what to expect. The next picture is the tram you ride across to get on zip line and it is even higher than the tram. This will just give you an idea of how high above the gorge it is.
After leaving there we headed west toward Montrose, CO. Little did I know that we would be going over Monarch Mtn. Elevation of it was 11,300 ft. The Pony is getting a workout. At the top of the mountain we crossed over the Continental Divide.

After crossing that mountain we started seeing the Mesa's
This was Blue Mesa Reservoir. It went on for several miles.

So now it is time to go study and try to figure out where we will be going tomorrow.
