Time to go again.

Earlier in the week John & Kristin went and got Maddie (his cousin). Her and Mitchell were having a play day. They had planned on going to the park in Lebanon, but it was too crowded, so they came back to the house and swam. Her and Mitchell could really pass for twins

We are leaving after church to go to Defeated Creek camping. Thankfully it is suppose to cool off some. Buddy will have to come back to work this week, until Thursday afternoon, then he will be able to come back up for the long holiday weekend. Mitchell is getting to take his first camping trip without his mommy & daddy. Nolen has been with us several times by himself, but seems like when Mitchell is up there his mommy & daddy always have to tag along. :) I think Mitchell will be with me until Tuesday unless his mommy & daddy can't stand being away from him. His birthday is in a couple of weeks. I decided to go on and give him his present so he could use it while we were camping. Here he is getting his first glimpse of it
Proud of his new big boy bike.
All geared up ready to go.

Mitchell & John's bath tub

We have a little joke going on. A few weeks back while Kristin and John were in Florida, Buddy was taking care of her flowers & feeding the dogs. One afternoon he forgot to cut the water off, so it ran all night and the next day. So Kristin said John & Mitchell are going to have to take their baths in our pool for a month. Just kidding they just stopped by to cool off. I have a video of Mitchell jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side but couldn't get it to load. Will try again later.
Hopefully he will be able to swim before long without these floaties.
This has to be my favorite day lily I have.

Week in Review

We had a fun time last night. Dinner was Cracker Chicken, zucchini pie, squash & onions, roasted red potatoes, mac & cheese, tomato salad, cornbread, & Texas toast. Dessert was apple tart w/ice cream. After dinner the kids played around the sand box for awhile and then hit the pool. Mitchell loves the water and will jump off the side and diving board. By the end of the night Nolen had decided that he really could touch the bottom and was walking around the shallow end. Trevor didn't like it at first but by the end he was letting his daddy swing him around on his belly and was kicking his legs. I hope they all learn to swim soon, sure would make me feel better.
We are so sad to see Jeremy have to leave again. Seems like he just got here. He will be leaving on Saturday for Missouri. At least he does get to take his car and will be able to get off of base. He has already searched out some places to fish up there.
It has been terribly hot this week with afternoon storms. Wednesday night me & Buddy sat on the porch and watch a beautiful lightning display that went on for well over an hour.
Just one of many, of my day lilies that my friend Debbie gave me last fall
Green beans Zucchini & yellow squash Jeremy and the boys. This first one is blurry because I had just brought it outside from 70 degrees to 90 degree humidity.
Yippeee!!!!! Nolen can touch and walk around the shallow end this year. Check out Trevor's legs, I'm afraid he got those from Grandma (short & fat) Couldn't get Nolen to look so you take a pic when you can. What is more fun than to splash water in your face.
Mitchell can go anywhere he wants in the pool with this float. This is what you do with zucchini when they get too big. My dad carved it. Mitchell jumping off diving board to his daddy.

From Maine to Florida

Wow, hang on to your hats folks. I thought last week was busy and so decided I needed a vacation. :) Not really, just happened. First of all last Friday, me,Buddy, Kristin, & Mitchell went to see Miss Makyna, and what a sweet precious baby. Then on Friday night we kept Nolen & Trevor. Jamie & Craig were going fishing very early on Saturday. They played outside most of the morning. Kristin, John & Mitchell took off to Florida early Sat. morning. John had been sick all day on Friday, so I'm sure he wasn't looking forward to the drive. On Sunday night, I must have had a motherly instinct, and decided that I needed to go down to be with them. Well, sure enough on Monday morning I had a text from Kristin saying she had gotten sick. Buddy called and got me a room where they were staying. Off I went by 10:45. Got there around 7 and as I was walking to their room I got a text from Kristin saying to get carpet cleaner, Mitchell had gotten sick. But by the next morning they were all fine. I really haven't seen them that much. I have just been chilling on the beach and reading. Boy I can find any excuse to just take off and go. Sorry Buddy couldn't be here. Will be heading home tomorrow.

Busy week

This was a very busy week, coming off of vacation. I don't think I will be taking another one at the end of May. There is daily tending to the garden this time of year, and 10 days away was too much. It is almost under control now. Hopefully it won't be too wet from the rain and I can get back in it today.
Last night was the first I had seen Jeremy since he has gotten back. It was so good to have him back eating with us on our Thursday night family meal. We had sour cream chicken enchiladas, taco salad, taquitas, 7 layer taco dip, white cheese dip. When Jeremy was losing his weight I would make Weight Watchers cakes and that was his request. All it is, is a chocolate fudge cake mix and Diet Coke.
Yesterday Ms. Makyna Reese Glover was born, weighing 8 lbs 3 oz. 20 1/2 inches long. We will go see her this afternoon, but from the pics you can see she is a beautiful newborn. You can go to Sissy's blog later and I'm sure she will have the pics posted.
Kristin, John, & Mitchell will be leaving for Florida tomorrow, so keep them in your prayers for safe travel.
