Pebbles

Well, we finally decided to let Pebbles go. As most of you knew, she was getting really old and couldn't get around very good. She was suffering so much we decided she needed to be put out of her misery. We pretty much thought she had cancer and when Buddy took her to the vet he said that it was. I just can't tell you how much joy this dog has given to our family. I got her at the pound 16 yrs ago. Pound puppies seem to make the best kind. She was a great protector and a very dear friend. When Buddy would be out in the yard working, she would follow him around wherever he went. We have so many memories of her and will always hold them near our hearts. I know she is better off but we sure are going to miss her. I know this was very hard on Buddy to have to take her. He did have a friend from work to come help him dig her grave. She is laid to rest in the backyard along with Rags (the other dog in the pic with Craig & Kristin) and our little Sophie (a Maltese) which we had to put down 2 years ago.
She was probably around 8 weeks old here.
She was around 2 yrs old here. Taken middle of last week. This picture was taken Saturday.

Easter

This is the Easter Bunny Rice Krispee Cake I made
We had a good Easter service at church yesterday. Craig & Trevor came, but Nolen & Jamie were still recovering from last week. After church we went to Buddy's Uncle Bobby & Aunt Peggy's house for Easter with family. It was good to see everyone. We all took a dish, and Bobby grilled pork chops. It was all very good. After we ate the little ones had an Easter Egg Hunt. There is always a Golden Egg with money in it and Mitchell was the one that found it. $20 Wow, the Easter Bunny was very generous.

Happy Birthday Trevor

Today is Trevor's actual birthday. His party was last Saturday, and that was a good thing because of all that Nolen has been through. Nolen is doing better and thanks for all of you that had him in your prayers. Trevor had a big day with lots of good food and presents. He actually had an ear infection that we didn't know about. You could tell he just wasn't himself. Jamie took him to the doctor on Sunday. He got his meds and now back to his happy little self now.
Bring me my cake!!!!
Trevor could care less about opening presents. He wanted to eat his cupcake.

Happy Birthday Kristin

Family table was a little empty this week. Trevor is actually in the high chair but can't see him.
We had Kristin's birthday dinner last night. So sorry Nolen, Craig and Jamie couldn't be there. Her picked menu was breakfast. We had eggsbenedict hashbrowns, bacon/cheese/bread, gravy & biscuits It's so hard to believe she is 28 years, old, married, has a son and another baby on the way. She is still my little girl She was such a joy to watch grow up. I think that those of you that know her, she has the most beautiful spirit about her. She is thoughtful, caring and loving. She is the daughter that every mother would hope for. I'm thankful that both of my kids live close by. It would be so hard to not be able to see my kids and grandkids on a regular basis. That is why I so enjoy our Thursday nights together as a family.

Through the years. May need to double click on the pic to see it better.

Grandson's Rough Week

Wow this has been quite a week. Trevor's birthday party was Saturday. He wasn't feeling his best but he did good. I will post more about him on his actual birthday which is Sunday. Saturday night he got worse and had to go to the doctor on Sunday. Ear infection.
Sunday Mitchell went to his Gram's and Pop's to church. After church they had lots of fun playing. They love to feed the fish in Pops pond. He took a tumble off of their deck onto some rocks and landed on his head. Had to go to to the ER for his first time. He had several cuts and one was deep enough that had to be glued. Monday you would never know anything was wrong. Sunday, Nolen had started running a fever and wheezing really bad and they had to take him to ER at Vanderbilt. His oxygen was very low and heart rate high. He is still there and still not quite sure what is causing it to last this long. The times before he has never had to stay this long. So they are now going to see a specialist and start doing some tests on his lungs. They will do some tests tomorrow and hopefully he can come home. Trevor is fine now, sleeping snug as a bug in our bed. I'm sure he is wondering what is going on. Tomorrow is Kristin's Birthday and I will make a separate post about that and then another on Sunday for Trevor's Birthday.

Krystal Burgers & Philly Steak

This was a much better week than the past month has been. Finally getting over the crud and the toe is healing good. I was able to get back on the treadmill this week, and it sure felt good to sweat again. I haven't been on it for over a month, since I broke my toe. Plus, I was able to get back to reading. It usually takes me just over an hour to get my walk in and I read while on the treadmill. I have a hard time making myself sit down and read, unless I'm camping or in late afternoon sitting on the deck. So reading and walking works good for me.
Not sure how many of you like Krystal Hamburgers (or gut bombs) but I love them. Me & my dad used to go fishing on Friday's after he got home from work. He would always stop and buy a dozen Krystals and we would head to the lake. I found a recipe this week that tastes just like them. We made several of them last night to go along with the rest of the meal. I think everyone agreed that they were a close match. The rest of the meal was Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches and roasted red potatoes. Kristin made a delicious Amish Sweet Coffeecake type bread, that pretty much got devoured. After dinner since it was storming the boys didn't get to go out and play. They just played with their cars and then we played 3 rounds of bingo.
Okay, Kristin is 15 weeks pregnant. How far along do you think Craig is? I think he was pushing out a little, because he has lost weight. Looks like a Krystal burger to me. Boys eating their Krystals

Buddy was trying to get the boys to smile, they were looking at the camera but mom & dad were watching Buddy.
