Trip to VA with Mom & Shelby

Me, Mom and Shelby took a quick trip to Bluefield, VA. Mom wanted to come see her sister, Ruby and it was a great time for Shelby and my friend Debbie's granddaughter (Alex) to get to play together. After I dropped mom off at Janet's house (Debbie's mom and my mom's friend) me and Shelby took off to Debbie's house. Alex and Shelby had a great time playing together.
Today we packed a picnic lunch and took the girls to the park.

Amy (Debbie's daughter-in-law) brought Jaxson her other grandchild by to play at the park. Such sweet kids!
 We had a picnic.
Great memories being made with a great friend for 56 years. And so hard to believe we are still so close, because I moved away from Bluefield when I was 9 years old. Shelby actually thought we were sisters. And now to be able to let our grandkids become friends and making memories is a plus.

Tonight the girls had planned on having a "Frozen" party. They started out singing "Let it Go" As you can see, Shelby is not the shy one. Alex had just woke up from a nap, and wasn't quite ready to sing, but knows the song.
And then it was time for manicures and pedicures. Since Debbie is the expert on that, I let handle to toe & finger nail polishing.

For our dinner we had toasted square bun hot dogs and Bluefield chili. Best ever. Debbie always has that for me when I come to Bluefield because she knows it is my favorite and we can't get square hot dog buns in Tenn. For dessert we had Rainbow Sherbert for the Frozen theme of course.
They of course had to take a bubble bath.
They were hungry again, so had yogurt with granola
Funniest part of the night, was the "Frozen" party was an all girls night, so they told Keith (Debbie's husband) that he had to go to the garage. Well, actually they didn't even watch the movie, but did all this other stuff that I have posted. After they ate their yogurt we went out on the porch and Keith had started up his old truck that he has restored all himself. Shelby wanted to go see it and her first words were "Wow that is SO COOL"

It was then time for us to wind things down, so the girls went outside and played with the glow sticks that Shelby had brought.
It was time for us to leave and this was just the sweetest thing, them hugging each other goodbye.
I hope these two girls can remain friends for as long as me and Debbie have been friends. My mother and Debbie's mother have been, me and Debbie have been and now I hope Alex & Shelby will be friends forever.
