New England Trip-Day 3

All I can say about today is oh my and interesting, and now that it is over all I can do is laugh. It was not what I expected but it all worked out and as our plans go, there are NO PLANS so that means nothing is pressing us to get to where we want to be. We left Norfolk, VA this morning and it was a very overcast day and rain was hit and miss all day. As you can see the ocean was rough and foggy our  first thing we had to do was go through the............
Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and it is 23 miles of......
going over the ocean and under the ocean
this is showing when your are in the tunnel under the ocean, which is a       creepy to me, knowing how much water is over you.
Going into the first tunnel, and then
                                                          coming out, then
                                                                  going back under, and.........
here is the GPS showing the Pony just swimming through the Atlantic
We were kind of pressed for time to make the Ferry over to New Jersey, so we by passed this lighthouse which is one we had seen before in 2006. This is Assateague Lighthouse in VA. This is also a very unusual area that a lot of folks don't know about. There are wild horses that run the beaches here. So we headed on up the road to where was only suppose to be an hour drive turned into 2 1/2 because of all of the weekend traffic. But we finally made it into.................
                                                                        Maryland and onto....
Fendwick Lighthouse on the Maryland/Delaware border
After leaving this lighthouse it was a mad dash to the ferry, and
we were pushing it to get there. That is where my major breakdown of the day happened............ ....... My IPHONE died on me. That is my lifeline when it comes to travel and navigation. So I was just winging it after that. Really wasn't that bad, but I did have a minor set back. Anyway, we made it to the ferry, and boy other than it was a bit choppy the hour ride over by sea was well worth the other option of having to drive 150 miles to get to where we needed to be which was Cape May Lighthouse. This is a lighthouse as we were leaving the ferry dock and next we see.............
Cape May from a distance, as we were approaching....
New Jersey after getting off the ferry and then on our way to...
                                                                Cape May Lighthouse
We climbed the 199 stairs to the top and....
the view was great....... and our
Pony is waiting on us at the bottom
So, now this is where it gets interesting. I'm really upset about my iPhone being messed up, so I am searching on Buddy's to find an Apple store to fix it. Well I key in the address on GPS and we take off. Before long we are headed into.......................
Yep, got that right. Atlantic City.....who wouldn't want to see...
Trump Plaza..... for sure not me. Anyway, the Apple store was right in the middle of Atlantic City at Caeser's Palace and guess what? We DID NOT STOP!!!!!! So to my surprise to make things a little better, I found another lighthouse right in the middle of this huge city.
Absecon Lighthouse, the third tallest lighthouse in the U.S.
All I can say, is that it has been one adventurous day. Tomorrow there probably won't be many pics as we are mainly going to try to get around New York City as fast as possible. Then our actual New England trip will begin.
